Dr Kuldeep Stohr has now been named as the consultant orthopedic surgeon at the centre of an urgent investigation launched by the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Stohr has been suspended from medical practice whilst a panel of experts review records of more than 800 likely negligent operations she conducted.

If you, or your child, were treated by Dr Stohr at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, then there is a possibility you are entitled to compensation. Pabla & Pabla Solicitors are now actively accepting Clinical Negligence cases for all patients affected by Dr Stohr. Contact our team today to find out if you can make a claim.

Who is Dr Stohr, and what went wrong?

Employed at the Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge since 2012, Dr Stohr specialised in paediatric surgery. She ran a weekly pediatric fracture clinic and saw roughly 200 patients a month –  the majority of which were children. Dr Stohr performed complex operations on many of these children.

According to a statement issued by the Trust, after Dr Stohr took a period of absence from work in March 2024, her work was picked up by colleagues. Looking at her work, they swiftly raised concerns about her decision making and the outcomes of her surgeries. An internal review was conducted.

The findings were distressing. It was revealed that nine paediatric patients received sub-standard treatment at the hands of Dr Stohr. Her decision making was found to be consistently questionable and often in direct contradiction with clinical guidance. Troublingly, it was also found that Dr Stohr often operated alone and without the support of colleagues.

Dr Stohr has now been suspended from medical practice, and a major review of 12 years of her work is actively being conducted by a panel of expert clinicians – led by Andrew Kennedy KC. As reported in the media, some of Dr Stohr’s patients have been left with life-altering, painful complications that will require further corrective surgeries. Other news outlets have reported her strange professional conduct.

The challenge now is to identify all patients affected by Dr Stohr’s negligent behaviour – and help them achieve some semblance of justice for wrongs they have suffered.
